Huts

All five SMC huts are strategically sited in, or adjacent to, areas of outstanding mountain scenery.

All have alpine bunks with foam mattresses requiring only a sleeping bag. Cooking, lighting & heating facilities are provided as an integral part of a modest nightly charge.

Bookings should be made, with few exceptions, through Club Secretaries. Popular times in certain huts may have to be booked well in advance, so check for availability. (In the case of the CIC Hut on Ben Nevis, bookings have to be made a year in advance for the popular winter season.)

None of the huts have any arrangement for refuse collection so please take your own back home for convenient disposal; refuse bags are normally supplied in the huts.
