Those who complete (compleat!) the Munros can record this fact and receive the magic number by writing in to The Clerk of The List (See here). Additionally, a list of current compleaters is published annually in the SMC Journal.

Ben Lui - 27 October 2005
Les reports: '27th October 2005 saw me, partner Ruth and our dog Muska on my final summit Ben Lui, along with members of the Hereford Mountain Club (HMC) with whom I have climbed many fine Munros since starting in 1989. Not strictly true! As a wet behind the ears teenager in 1968 I did my first ever hitchhike from Bedford to Fort William, slept cold and damp under a hedge, joined the YHA to get breakfast and then walked up The Ben with my holdall.' Back to Ben Lui: when the others started down I lingered alone awhile - and nature fleetingly bestowed on me a perfect brocken spectre and glory. Could I possibly be the first Munroist to witness this phenomenon on their completion summit?
