The SMC offers a diverse number of publications, appealing to all outdoor enthusiasts. These pages present a summary of our offerings, in addition to our annual Journal.

		Scottish Winter Climbs		The second edition of this indispensable guidebook to winter climbing has been fully updated and expanded to detail over 900 of the finest winter climbs in Scotland, with the emphasis on the popular lower and mid-grade classics. 90 colour action photographs, 79 photo-diagrams and 15 maps supplement accurate descriptions to make this an essential item for any winter mountaineer. 384 pages. 		The Cairngorms		Shortlisted at the prestigious Banff Mountain Book Festival in November 2008, this brand new, fully comprehensive guide covers all of the summer and winter climbing in both the northern and southern Cairngorms area. 		Northern Highlands South		This is the final guide in the Northern Highlands trilogy and it covers an area from Torridon south to Applecross, Glen Carron, Glen Shiel and Knoydart. 		Scottish Rock Climbs		2005. This popular selected guidebook details over 1200 of the finest Scottish rock climbs. Neatly packed into one user friendly volume this is an invaluable guide, detailing the best climbs in an area currently covered by 11 comprehensive guides. 		Arran, Arrochar and the Southern Highlands		1997. Summer and winter climbing on the granite of Arran, the schist of Arrochar, and the frozen turf and ice of the Southern Highlands. 		Bouldering Guides		The following two bouldering guides are from independent publishers, but the SMC feels that they deserve a wider showing and we are happy to provide some details here
		Ullapool Bouldering		This guide has been produced by local activist and SMC member Ian Taylor. It covers over 250 boulder problems in one of the most unspoilt, rugged and beautiful corners of the British Isles. £8.00 plus postage. 'You're never alone with an SMC guidebook'. Sounds like a trite soundbite dreamt up by a junior in an ad office, but there is some truth in it. You don't have to use our guidebooks, and you certainly don't have to follow any of the recommended routes found in them, but the information found in our hillwalking, climbing and scrambling series have been built on for over 110 years by experts in the game and would save you endless hours in your plans.
