Those who complete (compleat!) the Munros can record this fact and receive the magic number by writing in to The Clerk of The List (See here). Additionally, a list of current compleaters is published annually in the SMC Journal.
David W. Coia - 3376
Ladhar Bheinn - 26 June 2005
The narrative: Over the weekend of 24th / 25th June 2005 Derek James Bryce Reid (3375) & David William Coia completed the Munros on the same day during a 24 hour trip to Knoydart when we climbed Luinne Bheinn, Meall Buidhe and our final Munro Ladhar Bheinn.
We organised a boat from Arnisdale at 12 noon on the Saturday and then walked from Barrisdale Bay to Mam Barrisdale where we pitched our tent. In the afternoon we climbed Luinne Bheinn and Meall Buidhe before returning to Mam Barrisdale at around 9pm. In the morning we left the tent at 4.20am and arrived at the summit of Ladhar Bheinn around 7am. Luckily the summit remained clear, although clouds were developing constantly in Coire Dhorrcail and soon after we began our descent they covered the summit. In the far distance we could see the summit of Ben Nevis above the clouds and this is just visible in our compleation photographs. We returned to Mam Barrisdale to pick up the tent and then walked to Barrisdale Bay to rendezvous with the boat from Arnisdale at 12noon.
My 1st Munro was Ben Lomond in June 1987 and Derek's 1st ascent was Ben Ime in June 1991.
