Those who complete (compleat!) the Munros can record this fact and receive the magic number by writing in to The Clerk of The List (See here). Additionally, a list of current compleaters is published annually in the SMC Journal.

Slioch - 3 November 2012
My first Munro was Ben Lomond, climbed on 12th June 2004. It then took me a wee while to develop a habit, but by early 2006 I was completely hooked on what is surely one of the most rewarding hobbies on the planet. Slioch was partly chosen as the final Munro given its proximity to both Torridon and Fisherfield (two of my absolute favourite areas of Scotland) and – on a clear day – its view across to my childhood home of South Uist. I climbed Slioch with friends Al Campbell and Rab Egerton, the latter deserving special mention as we were climbing companions on well over 100 of the summits. I should also thank another good friend Adam Thomas for triggering my obsession with the hills, and of course my partner Kaylie Allen for supporting me throughout.
