We operate five huts strategically sited in, or adjacent to, areas of outstanding mountain scenery. The club is grateful for the financial support it has received from the Scottish Mountaineering Trust for the running of these huts.

Facilities

All have alpine bunks with foam mattresses requiring only a sleeping bag. Cooking, lighting & heating, as well as toilets and drying rooms are all provided, the majority of the huts also have showers.

Huts and Under 18s

IMPORTANT NOTE: following lengthy discussion by the main SMC Committee on 12/10/25 we have decided to restrict the use of all our huts to those aged 18 or over. It is not our intention to have a permanent, complete ban on under 18s and we hope to revise this position as soon as possible, but for the time being, until legal & insurer positions have been clarified, UNDER 18s ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE HUTS.

Online Bookings

Bookings for the CIC, Lagangarbh and Naismith huts should be made online via the availability calendars for these huts. Further details on the booking process are provided on the pages for these huts. If you are already registered on the booking system you can book any of these huts without re-registering.
Bookings for all other huts should be made through the hut custodians. Contact information and a booking availability calendar for each hut is on the relevant hut page. Popular times in certain huts may have to be booked well in advance, so please check the availability calendars on the hut pages.
